Emily Cummins | Artist
Based on the East Suffolk coast, I am a ceramic artist whose work is shaped by nature. I use clay to explore my long-standing interest in the natural world through handmade ceramic forms.
My practice is influenced by my background in ecology and my degree in Wildlife Conservation, which give me an understanding of ecosystems and allow me to explore environmental themes from a unique perspective. Every piece I create is connected to nature, incorporating the textures, organic shapes, and intricate patterns found throughout the living world.
Iām interested in the mix of awe and vulnerability that nature can make us feel. Through my ceramics, I try to reflect that sense of connection and contrast, and to show both the beauty and power of the natural world.
